"I’ve FALLEN, And I Can’t Get Up!

Remember that? Well, here’s the TRUTH...

Our ability to PRODUCE FORCE down and into the ground is what actually keeps us upright and moving forward against gravity ALL day, EVERY day.

But a MAJOR COMPENSATION that I see regularly is that we will unknowingly shift our weight either to the outside of our feet or forward onto our toes in order to not fall.

Because we’re compensating to do so, this strategy limits our ability to rotate, which limits our ability to move and feel better. And as a result, we’re just gonna feel stiff and tight all over.

So, what I have for you today is a strategy that will help enable us to shift our weight backward and onto our heels.

Let’s give it a shot!

Here’s what you're gonna need:

-Clear/comfortable/quite space

-Wall

Here’s what you’re gonna do as DEMONSTRATED:

-Put your back up against the wall.

-Walk your feet approximately 2-foot lengths away from the wall (don’t slide!).

✔️You should notice your waistband area against the wall at this point.

✔️Feet hip-width apart. Weight on your heels. Feet should be flat.

-Slide down against the wall approximately a quarter of the way (above parallel).

-Eyes straight ahead.

-Arms/hands relaxed in front of you.

-During your EXHALE, push your waistband into the wall using your HEELS a bit.

🔑Notice your lower back flattening against the wall as you do so;)

🫁 BREATHING SEQUENCE:-Open a relaxed mouth and EXHALE to help you settle in.-Slow, Silent Nasal INHALE (4-6 count): You SHOULDN’T hear yourself!-Open, Relaxed Mouth Sighing EXHALE (4-6 count): Slow. Long. Easy. Relaxed. Soft. DAILY PRACTICE: Hold this position as demonstrated and breathe: 2-3rds x 1 minute

Stand away from the wall. Move around. Notice how you feel. Notice your feet. Where’s your weight now? Feet a little flatter, perhaps?

💡 REMEMBER…if we want to move and feel better as we age, we need to reset our bodies with a SMART…DAILY PRACTICE. REAL CHANGE only happens with time and consistency.
